Calendar timetable - Group resources

Introduction

Menu option: Apply grouping explains how to view the timetable of each resource item in a separate column, prior to opening the timetable.
You can also do this directly in the timetable using the 'Apply Grouping' button.
Use the 'Disable grouping' button to view all resource items in the same column.
Warning Tip: You can also generate a timetable with some of the resources each in separate columns and the rest share the same column.

Apply grouping

To view each resource in a separate column:

  1. Click the 'More options' menu button. A window appears where you can see the 'Apply Grouping' button in the Grouping menu.
  2. Click the 'Apply grouping' button.

The resources now appear in separate columns.
The figure shows the timetable of K101 in the first column.

Disable grouping

To view all the resources not grouped per resource:

  1. Click the More options menu button and open the Grouping menu.
  2. Click the 'Disable grouping' button.

The figure shows that on Monday 3 bookings of different resources appear in the same column.

Order Group resources

You can group the resources in a fitting order.

  1. In the Group resources window select a resource and drag it above or below another resource.
    In the figure is Gandalf now at the top in the Group resources window.
  2. Click the Group resources button.

In the figure you see that in the overview Laboratory-B is now in the first column and K101 in the second.

Group specific resources

Suppose you wish to view some resources in separate colums and the remainder bundled in one column.

  1. Drag the resources that are to be bundled in one column from the 'Grouped resources' window at the top to the 'Ungrouped resources' window below.
    In the figure some resources have been dragged down (ungrouped) leaving only Laboratory A and B at the top (grouped).
  2. Click the Apply grouping button.

In the figure only bookings with Laboratory A and B are grouped i.e. they have a separate column.

Warning Tip: If you only want to see columns of grouped resource uncheck the 'Show ungrouped' box and do 'Apply grouping' again.

Warning Tip: You can drag several resources at once:

  1. Click the first resource to drag.
  2. Keep the Shift-key pressed.
  3. Click the last resource to drag.
